An inspirational and information-packed day is designed to provide tools to start a short, feature or documentary film and break into the film industry with skills as a screenwriter, director or producer. A useful handbook is provided. Sunday Film School consists of four informative and inspirational lectures.

About Elliot Grove:

Mesmerized by the moving image from a young age, but unable to watch TV or films until his early teens due to the constraints of his Amish background, Canadian-born Elliot Grove followed up formal art school training with a series of jobs behind the scenes in the film industry.

Grove moved to London in the late 1980s and launched the Raindance Film Festival, a festival devoted to independent filmmaking and its emerging talent. He is proud of the fact that last year’s Raindance line-up included 98 independent features and 150 shorts from 36 countries.

Grove also lectures on screenwriting and filmmaking throughout the UK and Europe, and in 1992 set up the training division of Raindance which now offers masterclasses on writing, directing, producing and marketing for film. These courses are designed for those with no formal training who want to break into the film industry, or for professionals who want to refresh their skills.

He founded the British Independent Film Awards in 1998. Britain’s film industry regularly describes this event as the most important in the UK. In 2007 he founded Britain’s first IPTV service, Raindance.tv, which has over 400 hours of independent shorts and features.

Publications by Elliot Grove:

130 Projects to Get You into Filmmaking (2009)
Raindance Producers' Lab Lo-To-No Budget Filmmaking (2004)
Raindance Writers' Lab (2001)

Grove is available for interview until July 15 by Skype or telephone from London, UK. From July 17 from Toronto, Ontario.
