Wayne State hosts Debate Watch
the evening of October 16, 2012
500+ students expected to attend,
view the presidential debate and discuss
Wayne State’s Department of Communication, the Dean of Students Office, the Center for the Study of Citizenship and the WSU Student Center host a campus-wide non-partisan presidential Debate Watch the evening of October 16, 2012. The event begins at 8:30 pm. After viewing the national broadcast, WSU hosts several small group discussions to allow students and community members a forum to express their reactions to the debate.
Members of the acclaimed WSU debate team will be available to media. Members will be scoring the debate and providing their impressions regarding the effectiveness of the candidates’ arguments. In addition, Drs. Kelly Young and Ron Stevenson, professors of communication and coaches for the team, will be available for comment.
