You have the opportunity to save a life, just by being you. Patients with blood cancers may get to the point in their treatment that they require a bone marrow transplant for a cure. When they don’t have a suitable donor in their family, they turn to Be The Match. Be The Match connects patients in need with the generous stranger that has joined the registry, stating a willingness to save a life. There are patients that turn to the registry and do not find their match, because that one person that can help them has not joined. Become a part of that life-saving mission by joining the registry yourself! In the least, come learn about the program and educate yourself on the cause.
The Pre-Professional Medical Society registered 19 of its members back in November of 2012. We want to reach out to the entire Wayne State community to spread the mission of Be The Match. A Be The Match representative will be at State Hall on February 11th (Monday) from Noon- 4pm offering registration and answering any questions about joining. Come swab your cheek and save a life!
