Habit Change for High Achievers: The 4 Step Process No One Taught You

Habit change is notoriously challenging. Conventional advice is to use will power and self discipline, both of which have been shown to be less than effective for long term change. Learn what to do instead and how to start implementing four practical steps today.

Learning Objectives:

  • Why willpower is ineffective
  • The importance of understanding habits as learned solutions
  • The most common habits of women physicians/high achievers
  • 4 counterintuitive steps to change any habit.

Moderators:

Claire Pearson, MD, MPH, FACEP
Assistant Professor

Guest Speaker:

Kristi Angevine, MD, FACOG is a board certified Ob/Gyn, master certified life coach and host of the Habits on Purpose podcast. After 11 years in private practice, she shifted her professional focus to full time coaching. She specializes in helping high achievers change unhelpful habits into intentional ones. Whether it’s perfectionism, rumination, second guessing, people pleasing, excess scrolling, overeating, or simply feeling chronically preoccupied with a running mental to do list, she helps them unpack the root causes of their habits. She has a natural warmth that helps all of her clients feel at ease and have fun while they work on mindset. In addition to master coach certification through The Life Coach School, she is also an Internal Family Systems-informed practitioner and an Advanced Certified Deep Dive Coach. Her certification in Advanced Feminist Coaching is currently underway. She synthesizes all her trainings in a coaching approach that blends cognitive, somatic and IFS-informed methodologies.
