When you register, please include one or two leadership questions you wish to ask the guest, on camera. These will be used on the Detroit Public Television website.

You'll listen to my interview of the guest, some of you will be part of student Q&A on camera, and everyone participates in a not-for-broadcast discussion with the guest in the studio immediatly following the formal taping.

These shows are recorded right here on campus.

Mary Kay Henry, International President

Service Employees International Union (SEIU)

3:00 pm - Thursday; April 19, 2012
5057 Woodward (Maccabees Building) - WSU Campus

Henry has devoted her life to helping North America's workers form unions and strengthen their voice at work about the quality of the goods and services they provide, and the quality of care they are able to deliver.

The daughter of a salesman and a teacher, Henry grew up in a suburb of Detroit at a time when working people had a strong union voice that they used to build the middle class. She has a deep commitment to opening the doors to opportunity for everyone and not just the few at the top. Henry credits the thousands of SEIU member leaders with developing her leadership. "I am moved by the countless acts of individual courage I've witnessed in building this incredible organization called SEIU," Henry said. "Leadership in this moment of crisis for working people will transform our nation's priorities and get our country back to work in good, union jobs that can support our families and nourish the dreams of the next generation."

Go to business.wayne.edu --> Leaders on Leadership to see our complete current schedule and to read more about the guests on the "information" link. As new tapings are added, the site will be updated immediately.
