From April 2 to April 17, the Wayne State University Athletics Department W Week Community Service Initiative, in partnership with Wayne Cares, Marriott Hotels and Covenant House Michigan, will host a drive to collect small toiletry items to make basic needs bags for those in need in our community and for Covenant House Michigan’s efforts to help young people in transition. Last year, with the help of eleven metro Detroit area Marriott-affiliated hotels (link to a PDF that will list the hotels with website links), the Wayne State community collected more than 10,000 items for the Basic Needs Drive and created more than 800 basic needs bags! Wayne Cares is grateful to collaborate with Marriott again this year to collect even more items for the community.
Below is a list of critical items needed; we hope you will help support this drive. Our goal is to collect enough items to create 1,000 basic needs bags (if not more!) for the community.
Items can be donated at the following locations across campus:

- Applebaum Pharmacy and Health Sciences Building – 259 Mack (first floor corridor)
