Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes is part of the American Diabetes Association's Stop Diabetes movement and the signature one-day, fundraising and awareness walk taking place in 135 cities across the United States.
Step Out helps raise money that will change the future of diabetes and the lives of 25.8 million American children and adults (1 out of 12 Americans) living with diabetes today.
The event will take place Saturday, September 15 at the Detroit Zoo in Royal Oak.
Registration starts at 7:30 a.m., and the walk begins at 8:30 a.m.
Zhengping Yi, Ph.D., associate professor within WSU Pharmaceutical Sciences, has created a Wayne Care team for the Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes to represent the university and is seeking team members for the event.
