"Managing Severe Adult Atopic Dermatitis – Addressing the Etiology Instead of Treating the Symptoms"

Objectives:
1.  Be able to avoid using systemic immunosuppressives and systemic steroids when treating severe adult atopic dermatitis; 
2.   Understand recent paradigm shifts in understanding of atopic dermatitis pathophysiology;
3. Be able to use this understanding to better recognize clinically important subtypes of atopic dermatitis,
4. Know how to tailor management based on the clinical subtype

Location:   All lectures are held at John D. Dingell VA Medical Center, 4646 John R, Detroit, MI 
               10 a.m. – Patient Presentations (Dermatology Clinic, red section, main floor)
               10:30-11:30 a.m. – Lecture is held in the Auditorium, lower level (yellow elevators)
               11:30-12 - Case management discussion

AUDIENCE:  WSU physicians and faculty, residents, fellows, medical students, and other practicing  physicians  in the area.

AAD CREDIT STATEMENT:  The American Academy of Dermatology certified that this educational activity has been recognized for 2 hours of AAD Category I credit and may be used toward the American Academy of Dermatology’s Continuing Medical Education Award.

AMA/ACCME 2007 Accreditation Statement:  The Wayne State University School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.   The Wayne State University School of Medicine designates this educational activity for a maximum of 2.0 AMA PRA Category 1 credits.  Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
