The Office of Environmental Health & Safety is pleased to host the Hazardous Waste/Emergency Procedures training. This session addresses handling, storage and disposal of chemical hazardous waste and is required annually for all employees generating hazardous waste. Topics include:
- Explanation of EPA Resource Conversation & Recovery Act (RCRA)
- Laboratory's responsibilities as a hazardous waste generator
- Definitions of hazardous waste
- Procedures for collection, labeling, storage and removal of waste
- Spills and other hazardous materials releases
- Evacuations and emergency procedures
The training will be held on Friday, August 7 from 11 a.m. to noon at 3125 Scott Hall.
