The Forum on Contemporary Issues in Society (FOCIS) is pleased to present author and educator Diane Ravitch as the keynote presenter in a discussion of public education. Professor Ravitch will share her views on public education, including measurement and testing, accountability, school choice, privatization – even mayoral control – and how to best prepare students to contribute in the 21st-century economy.
Diane Ravitch is Research Professor of Education at New York University and a historian of education. In addition, she is a nonresident senior fellow at the Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C. and former United States Assistant Secretary of Education
