 mmaryDr. Allaire will review his research on everyday cognition and within
 -person fluctuations (i.e., intraindividual variability) in cognitive abil
 ity.&nbsp; In addition, he will present new data that merges these two lin
 es of research examining the extent to which elders&#39; everyday competen
 cy fluctuates from day-to-day and the factors associated with such fluctua
 tion.Speaker&#39;s Research InterestsDr. Allaire&#39;s current research pr
 ojects explore intraindividual variability in elders&#39; cognitive and re
 al-world competency. He also is an Investigator on the Baltimore Study of 
 Black Aging, a longitudinal examination of elderly African Americans cogni
 tive functioning. Dr. Allaire is an assistant professor in the Department 
 of Psychology at North Carolina State University, Raleigh, North Carolina.
  He received his Ph.D. in Lifespan Development at Wayne State University a
 nd was a graduate trainee at the Institute of Gerontology.
