Jason C. Allaire, Ph.D
Assistant Professor,
Department of Psychology
North Carolina State University

Presentation Summary

Dr. Allaire will review his research on everyday cognition and within-person fluctuations (i.e., intraindividual variability) in cognitive ability.  In addition, he will present new data that merges these two lines of research examining the extent to which elders' everyday competency fluctuates from day-to-day and the factors associated with such fluctuation.

Speaker's Research Interests

Dr. Allaire's current research projects explore intraindividual variability in elders' cognitive and real-world competency. He also is an Investigator on the Baltimore Study of Black Aging, a longitudinal examination of elderly African Americans cognitive functioning.

Dr. Allaire is an assistant professor in the Department of Psychology at North Carolina State University, Raleigh, North Carolina. He received his Ph.D. in Lifespan Development at Wayne State University and was a graduate trainee at the Institute of Gerontology.
