One of the requirements for graduating from the LL.M. program is completing an extensive research paper called the "Master's Essay". The main purpose of the workshop is to make clear what the expectations are as far as length, depth, and originality (also the faculty regulations that apply with respect to deadlines, the role of the faculty advisor, and the relationship between thesis essay and seminars, independent studies, and other written work).
