Orientation will be held at the Law School at 471 West Palmer Street in Detroit. The following is an overview of the schedule for each day of orientation. You will receive additional information regarding registration and orientation in the coming weeks. Noon - 2 p.m.: Relax, Relate, Release: A fun health/wellness event to calm 1L jitters (Day Students)
2:30 - 5 p.m.: Legal Writing: Introduction to the Legal System and Legal Writing (Day Students)

Class Discussion:

• Sources of the law and structure of the court system
• Development of the law through the common law process
• Relationship between case law and statutes
• Citation to provide authority and attribution
• Exercises 1A and 1B
