Gambling, Alcohol and Drugs: The Impact of Addictions on Families*
The Mission of the Merrill Palmer Skillman Institute of Wayne State University is to promote the optimal development of children and families in urban and large metropolitan areas by stimulating and facilitating interdisciplinary research, education and engagement with communities.
We have a long history of providing seminars and training for professionals, and believe that the 2009-2010 series offering addresses many issues encountered by professionals working with families. All seminars are scheduled to be held at the Merrill Palmer Skillman Institute of Wayne State University from 9:00am-12:30pm.
Summary
This seminar will examine how gambling, alcohol and substance addictions impacts personal and family functioning. Interventions that address addictive and co-addictive behaviors will be explored.
