While formal structures of governance establish rights and responsibilities, there are many additional forms of governance people use to orchestrate and affirm their community membership, among them are civic organizations, community groups, and NGOs. The Center for the Study of Citizenship invites proposals for its 2015 annual conference that explore the many dimensions of the theme of governance and citizenship. The Center welcomes proposals that focus on: formal or informal governance local, national and international governance as well as proposals that explore the nature of governance as a means of delimiting access authority power and responsibility This list touches the surface of topics connected to governance and citizenship. Although the program committee will give preference to proposals that are directly relevant to the conference theme, proposals on all aspects of the study of citizenship are welcome. Abstracts of no more than 500 words are welcomed for consideration. Proposals, along with a short biography (50 words), and your twitter name (if you have one) should be submitted in one file to the Center's Event & Conference Coordinator, Helen Callow (citizenship@wayne.edu) no later than October 15, 2014. The best papers will be considered for publication in a peer-reviewed volume in the Wayne State University Press book series "Citizenship Studies," edited by the Center's Director, Marc Kruman and Research Fellow, Richard Marback. Both panel proposals and individual submissions are welcome Those interested in submitting panel proposals can use H-Citizenship to locate scholars with compatible interests Some scholarships will be available for international scholars to help defray their travel costs. These funds will be distributed on a competitive basis Limited availabilty of remote presentation Questions should be directed to Marc Kruman or Helen Callow events@wayne.edu (Web Master) Mon, 21 Jul 2014 23:00:00 EDT http://events.wayne.edu/main/2014/07/22/governance-citizenship-cfp-52793/ McGregor Memorial Conference Center All Day Bookstore Summer Hours http://events.wayne.edu/main/2014/07/22/bookstore-summer-hours-52823/ The WSU Bookstore is running on our summer store hours schedule.    Monday-Friday 8am-5:30pm Saturday 10-3 We will extend our store hours on Saturday when there is a new student orientation scheduled.  On orientation Saturday, the bookstore will be open until 5pm. www.wayne.bkstore.com www.facebook.com/waynestatebookstore   events@wayne.edu (Web Master) Mon, 21 Jul 2014 23:00:00 EDT http://events.wayne.edu/main/2014/07/22/bookstore-summer-hours-52823/ Barnes & Noble Bookstore All Day College of Education High Five Literacy Program http://events.wayne.edu/main/2014/07/22/college-of-education-high-five-literacy-program-52857/ High Five Literacy Program LOOKING FOR HELP IN READING AND WRITING FOR YOUR CHILDREN? These funds will be distributed on a competitive basis Limited availabilty of remote presentation Questions should be directed to Marc Kruman or Helen Callow events@wayne.edu (Web Master) Tue, 22 Jul 2014 23:00:00 EDT http://events.wayne.edu/main/2014/07/23/governance-citizenship-cfp-52793/ McGregor Memorial Conference Center All Day Bookstore Summer Hours http://events.wayne.edu/main/2014/07/23/bookstore-summer-hours-52823/ The WSU Bookstore is running on our summer store hours schedule.    Monday-Friday 8am-5:30pm Saturday 10-3 We will extend our store hours on Saturday when there is a new student orientation scheduled.  On orientation Saturday, the bookstore will be open until 5pm. www.wayne.bkstore.com www.facebook.com/waynestatebookstore   events@wayne.edu (Web Master) Tue, 22 Jul 2014 23:00:00 EDT http://events.wayne.edu/main/2014/07/23/bookstore-summer-hours-52823/ Barnes & Noble Bookstore All Day College of Education High Five Literacy Program http://events.wayne.edu/main/2014/07/23/college-of-education-high-five-literacy-program-52857/ High Five Literacy Program LOOKING FOR HELP IN READING AND WRITING FOR YOUR CHILDREN?
