Generation NeXt is the cohort of young people born between 1980 and 1994. Educators face distinct challenges as this generation of residents begins its training. Exploding technological advances create expectations for more sophisticated distributed learning, including e-communications, simulations and web-based instruction. Differences in technological literacy result in generational clashes between physcian educators and trainees. Mark Juzych, M.D., vice president of Academic Affairs for the Detroit Medical Center and associate dean of Graduate Medical Education for the Wayne State University School of Medicine, will explore how to bridge this gap.
