For the first time in Detroit Symphony Orchestra (DSO) history, the Orchestra’s opening Pops concert, Cirque de la Symphonie, will be “MaxCast” onto the south wall of the Max M. Fisher Music Center, lighting up the night with a free larger-than-life live stream of the DSO performing alongside world-famous Cirque acrobats. Led by renowned Pops conductor Jeff Tyzik, the MaxCast is part of Midtown Detroit's inaugural DLECTRICITY festival, a two-night blitz of temporary outdoor art installations using light as a medium. The MaxCast performance, which will include live and taped programming throughout the evening., will begin Saturday, October 6 at 8 p.m. Two additional performances of Cirque de la Symphonie will take place Friday, Oct. 5 at 10:45 a.m. and Sunday, Oct. 7 at 3 p.m.

Viewing outdoors is one of two ways to experience this sold-out performance. The concert will also be webcast live to a worldwide audience that evening on the Orchestra’s first Pops episode of “Live from Orchestra Hall.” Log on to dso.org/live to view the concert from your computer or download our free “DSO to Go” mobile app to view from your mobile device anywhere in the world.
