Wayne State University begins the Forest Arms Disaster Relief Effort with "Biloxi Blues."
The Hilberry Theatre, located on the corner of Hancock and Cass Ave., is holding a special benefit performance of Neil Simon's "Biloxi Blues" Saturday, February 9, at 2 p.m. All proceeds benefit the 25 Wayne State students who lost everything in the tragic Forest Arms Apartment fire on the morning of February 6. Of the 100 building residents, 30 are Wayne State students. 11 of those are in the College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts: 4 in music, 3 in communication, 3 in theatre and 1 in dance.
The Hilberry Theatre also is one of the locations for the university’s Forest Arms Disaster Relief Effort. Monetary donations will be accepted Noon - 7 p.m., Thursday through Saturday, at the Hilberry Theatre. The Hilberry will also ask for donations from its patrons throughout the weekend.
Tickets for this special benefit performance on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 9th, are available to students for a $10 donation and to the general public for a $30 donation. All donations go directly to the students affected by this tragedy.

"Biloxi Blues" shows again at 8pm that night.
Leaving home for the first time, Eugene Morris Jerome finds himself in the midst of life’s trials and tribulations for the first time, alone and at boot camp. As he trains for the war ahead, Eugene tries to understand his own reactions to what is happening around him while he confronts his own dreams. Warm your heart with this compelling comedy that teaches Eugene what his place in the world can and should be.
Visit the Wayne State University Box Office at 4743 Cass Avenue on the corner of Cass Avenue and Hancock. Performance information may also be obtained by visiting www.hilberry.com.
