The Office of the Vice President of Research is pleased to host the Sustainability@Wayne Seminar on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. at the Welcome Center Auditorium.  The presenter for this seminar will be Dr. Farsad Fotouhi, Corporate VP, Sustainability, Safety and Environmental Engineering at Pall Corporation in Ann Arbor, Michigan.  Dr. Fotouhi is responsible for global sustainability, and Safety and Environmental Engineering Programs at Pall.

Dr. Fotouhi will present, "Sustainability in Action."  According to Dr. Fotouhi, lowering the carbon footprint of a single activity can be relatively simple, but lowering the footprint of a multinational corporation and a growing corporation, takes a strategy.  Dr. Fotouhi will discuss the elements that went into developing the strategy at Pall Corporation, how the strategy evolved, the results and an analysis of the lessons learned.

The presentation will show how a sustainability strategy is formed, revised, pushed, expanded and re-formed along the way.  The goal is to help the participant recognize and capture the opportunities as they arise, and how to dovetail these new opportunities into a sustainability program that extends throughout the entire organization.

A small reception will follow the presentation in the Welcome Center Lobby (3:30-4:00 p.m.)

Note:  Parking is available in Parking Structure No. 3, Visitors Gate,  on Putnam (between Cass and Woodward).   Please bring your parking receipt to Kathy at the Welcome Center Registration Desk to be stamped.
