The Wayne State Insiders are ready to kick off Engineers Week.

Join us from noon to 1:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, in the Marvin I. Danto Engineering Development Center for a series of presentations and a panel featuring WSU College of Engineering faculty, students and alumni. They’ll provide an overview of the college’s exciting history, success stories and ongoing projects and answer any questions you may have about Wayne State’s engineering and computer science programs.

Panelists include:

  • Dr. Harold Mertz — WSU alumnus and creator of the worldwide standard crash test dummy
  • Dr. Elizabeth Buc — WSU alumna and pyroscientist
  • Dr. Juri Gelovani — WSU’s new biomedical engineering chair and pioneer of molecular-genetic in vivo imaging
  • James Croce – WSU alumnus, former CEO of NextEnergy, current president of Greenlark Energy Partners
  • Norman Dotson – WSU industrial and systems engineering student and president of the Engineering Student Faculty Board

Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in a fun tower building contest with the help of civil engineering students. Refreshments will also be provided.

The Wayne State Insiders group includes alumni, friends, students, parents, faculty and staff who serve as informal ambassadors for Wayne State and our Midtown community.  We welcome anyone excited about the positive impact of WSU and Detroit’s urban renewal.  The more we learn, the more we can share and the greater our collective impact.
