Camp Cosmos is a two-week long astronomy and astrophysics camp designed for students ages 12-15.  Base Camp for Camp Cosmos is in the recently upgraded WSU Planetarium. 

Participants will investigate the night sky and learn about telescopes; learn to use Starry Night software; study NASA space science; and explore many of the most interesting aspects of the solar system, the Milky Way Galaxy and the universe beyond. Exciting topics include stellar evolution, neutron stars, black holes and supernovas, the big bang, galaxies, cosmology, and current frontier mysteries like dark matter and dark energy. Participants will also enjoy many hands-on activities during the camp and special experiences such as visits to the WSU Fitness and Recreation Center, the Detroit Institute of Arts, and much more. It will be a cosmic experience! 

Camp dates:  Monday, June 17, 2013 - Friday, June 28, 2013
Camp hours: 9am-4pm
Location: Wayne State Planetarium, Old Main Building
Cost: $375.00 (Lunch is included every day)
