The Damon J. Keith Center for Civil Rights presents a screening and discussion of the award-winning documentary film American Promise. The documentary spans 13 years as Joe Brewster and Michele Stephenson, middle-class African-American parents in Brooklyn, N.Y., turn the cameras on their son and his best friend as they make their way through a prestigious private school.
