Parking Day is “an annual, one-day, global event where artists, activists, and citizens collaborate to temporarily transform metered parking spots into “PARK(ing)” spaces: temporary public parks...to promote creativity, civic engagement, critical thinking, unscripted social interactions, generosity and play.” (Source: parkingday.org)

In 2014, Wayne State University will participate in Park(ing) Day with several locations on Friday September 19, 2014.

Attend this information session to learn how you can get involved as a volunteer or partner!

Volunteers may utilize the WSU Park(ing) Day location for a meeting, bake sale, class, or other activity; donate materials (plywood, planters, furniture, etc.); or create their own Park(ing) Day design on or near campus. Local businesses, organizations and groups may also participate in Park(ing) Day by donating goods, food, or materials; sampling products; offering coupons; or creating their own Park(ing) Day location on or near campus.
