The challenges facing modern society cut across all ages and environments. Wayne State’s School of Social Work is committed to bringing health disparity closer to equity through its acclaimed research programs, curricula, student field experiences and initiatives. This month, the Wayne State Insiders will learn more about those efforts.

We’ll be welcomed by Dean Cheryl Waites, meet new Provost Keith Whitfield and tour the school’s beautiful new building on Woodward. We’ll also meet social work faculty and students and learn about their work in critical areas such as healthy aging, substance abuse, behavioral health and interpersonal violence.

The Wayne State Insiders includes alumni, friends, students, parents, faculty and staff who serve as informal ambassadors for Wayne State and our Midtown community. We welcome anyone excited about the positive impact of WSU and Detroit’s urban renewal. The more we learn, the more we can share, and the greater our collective impact can be.
