Grad Expo is required for students who will complete their degree requirements in Winter 2017 or Spring/Summer 2017 and plan on participating in the May 2017 Commencement ceremonies. Grad Expo provides an opportunity for students to take care of all their commencement needs at one time.
Ph.D./Ed.D. candidates must check with the Graduate School or College of Education for exact requirements needed in order to participate in the May 2017 Commencement ceremonies. Spring/Summer Ph.D. candidates are not eligible to participate in the May 2017 Commencement ceremony.
At Grad Expo graduates may confirm their eligibility for participation, pick up the required graduate access pass for admission to the Fox Theatre, receive guest tickets (each graduate may receive up to six (6) guest tickets), purchase cap and gown, speak with a representative from the Registrar's Office with diploma questions, receive information from the WSU Alumni Association, speak with a Financial Aid representative, etc.
Grad Expo takes place at the Welcome Center and the WSU Bookstore. Graduate access passes and guest tickets may be picked up at the Welcome Center. Caps and gowns may be purchased at Barnes and Noble. Announcements, rings and diploma frames may also be ordered at the WSU Bookstore.
Students must have completed an online degree application to be eligible to pick up access passes and guest tickets. Photo ID and signature is required before passes and tickets will be released. Students may receive a maximum of six (6) guest tickets. All guests must have a ticket for entry to the Fox Theatre.
The Commencement ceremonies will be held at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9 and Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at the Fox Theatre, 2211 Woodward Ave., Detroit, MI.
