The Detroit Orientation Institute at Wayne State University engages diverse participants in immersive experiences to understand our region's past, present and future. The Detroit 101 program includes a bus tour of neighborhoods throughout greater downtown, the University District and more, engaging with community leaders along the route. The tour will be led by Jeanette Pierce (Detroit Experience Factory). 

The morning will conclude with lunch and a group dialogue facilitated by Jeri Stroupe (Detroit Revitalization Fellow at Wayne State University's Office of Economic Development). Special guests joining the discussion include:

  • Asandi Conner (Detroit Revitalization Fellows)
  • Kurt Metzger (Mayor of Pleasant Ridge)
  • Reverend Barry Randolph (Church of the Messiah)
