Do you encourage interaction among students during class? Do the groups work well together? How do your assessments reflect the importance of teamwork? We will look at the cycle of group work as an integrated whole, from the practicalities of making the groups to closing the loop on assessment to get better buy-in from the students, including the strategies of group quizzes and pyramid exams. Positive results from this approach include improved learning as well as enhanced feelings of satisfaction among students. Join colleagues to explore the nuts and bolts of cooperative and collaborative learning strategies and assessments. The workshop is facilitated by Professor Andrew Feig, Chemistry Department. Co-sponsored by The Office for Teaching and Learning and the WSU WIDER Program. Click here to register.
