The Office of the Vice President for Research and Provost’s Office are pleased to offer the Research and Academic Development seminar series for WSU faculty, chairs & directors, postdoctoral trainees & graduate students, and administrators. Seminars are free but registration is required to attend.

This seminar, Faculty Mentoring: Why you should have a mentor...why you should be a mentor, will take place Thursday, October 19th, 2017, from 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. at the Maccabees Building, 5057 Woodward Avenue, 6th Floor Conference Room A.

Most successful academicians would agree that part of their success is due to the support and direction of peers. At this seminar pairs of mentors and their mentees will discuss the mentoring relationship, the obvious and not so obvious benefits of having a mentor, and the professional pride and satisfaction from a mentee’s achievements. This seminar is for those seeking a mentor, AND for those established faculty who wish to pay it forward.

Moderated by Distinguished Professor Emeritus Arthur Marotti, mentors and mentees will represent a cross-section of disciplines, but the concepts of mentoring is applicable to all.
