Wayne State invites the entire campus community to participate in the Detroit Commuter Challenge, a month-long campaign to encourage more sustainable and healthy forms of commuting. Participating in the Challenge is easy. Do you normally drive to campus? Carpool with a friend. Do you normally take the bus? Try biking instead.

To register for the 14th annual Detroit Commuter Challenge visit:

When commuters log their trips on the Commuter Challenge website, they will receive one point for each day. More points equal more chances to win great prizes, including an iPad, Tigers tickets, a Marriot hotel stay, as well as Visa and Amazon gift cards.

As the seventh-largest employer in Detroit, Wayne State strives to lead the region in efforts to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from commuting trips by 175,000 pounds in the month of May. This is equivalent to the weight of 33 cars. By reducing the vehicle miles driven alone, air pollution is reduced in Southeast Michigan.
