In honor of the 40th anniversary of the Inspectors General Act, the Levin Center at Wayne State University Law School will host a two-panel symposium in Washington, D.C. on “The Role of Inspectors General in Congressional Oversight."

Opening remarks: Inspector General Michael Horowitz of the U.S. Department of Justice, and former U.S. Sen. Carl Levin, chair of the Levin Center at Wayne Law and Wayne Law's distinguished legislator in residence

Panel 1: 

  • David Buckley, former inspector general, Central Intelligence Agency
  • Kathy Buller, inspector general, Peace Corps; and chair of the Legislation Committee for the Council of Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency
  • DeLisa Lay, senior investigative counsel, majority staff of the Senate Judiciary Committee
  • Jonathan Skladany, chief policy counsel, majority staff of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee
  • John Sopko, special inspector general for Afghanistan reconstruction
