Explore programming to create original Android applications. Learn how to use Android AppInventor and Java software. Create games you can share and be installed on smartphones and tablets. You can also distribute your app on the Google Play Store. Learn about computer science and software design, project management and teamwork skills.

Ages 13 - 17.

Wayne State University College of Engineering and Department of Computer Science are offering several camps designed to assist elementary, middle, and high school aged students in learning some of the skills needed to participate in the opportunities that are available by considering a career in engineering and computer science. 

Days: Monday through Friday 

Time: 8:30 am – 4:30 pm

Duration: One-week sessions

Cost: $300.00 per one-week session with exception of July 4th week.

Camp Registration
Registered campers receive one camp t-shirt, backpack, lanyard, and water bottle. Camp costs are $300 per week which includes daily lunch, field trips, and supplies. Additional t-shirts may be purchased during registration. Enrollment is first come first serve.
Camp capacity 20-25 students per session. Students may register for multiple sessions. Your child's seat is only secure with full payment due at the time of registration. Before and Aftercare is available for an additional cost.
Online Registration
Before Care held from 7:30 am - 8:30 am After Care held from 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm Cost $5 per day for before care, $5 per day for aftercare, or $10 per day for both before and aftercare.
Holiday Closure
No sessions will be held on July 4, 2018. Campus will be closed.
Professional Staff
Engineering and Computer Science graduate (PhD and Masters) students teach in the program. Trained undergraduate and graduate student assistants provide continuous individual assistance. Students will be supervised during all activities.
Field Trips & Outdoor Activities
Students attend one field trip per week and extra curricular activities daily. Sample field trips and extra curricular activities include:
• Michigan Science Center
• Detroit Institute of Arts
• Students participate in daily breaks with supervised outdoor play, sports, and techy games
Family Demonstration Days
Families are invited to demonstration day on the last day of each camp to showcase their work.

4 weeks prior to attending camp, full refund 
3 weeks prior to attending camp 50% non refundable
2 weeks prior to attending camp 100% non refundable
