What is “Learning Design & Technology”?

The Learning Design and Technology program prepares graduates to design and evaluate empirically grounded learning environments, products and programs that effectively employ emergent technologies in a variety of settings.

Instructional design, or Instructional systems design (ISD), is the practice of creating "instructional experiences which make the acquisition of knowledge and skill more efficient, effective, and appealing." The process consists broadly of determining the state and needs of the learner, defining the end goal of instruction, and creating some "intervention" to assist in the transition – it combines the art of creating engaging learning experiences with the science of how the brain works.

The Learning Design & Technology field is rapidly expanding while being applicable to numerous career paths – a degree in LDT will increase your professional marketability!
