More Details:

The purpose of the Hands-Only CPR Challenge is to increase the number of people in Michigan who can take action when they encounter a cardiac arrest through a friendly competition amongst participating colleges and universities in Michigan. Utilizing this technique during the first few minutes a person is experiencing a cardiac arrest has been found to increase that person’s likelihood of surviving the cardiac arrest by providing the extra time needed for more help to arrive. Undergraduate students, graduate students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends will be asked to self-report their participation in a Hands-Only CPR training via an online survey. The institutions with the highest number of self-reported surveys completed on behalf of their institutions (size categories based on undergraduate student population) will be presented with a trophy from the American Heart Association of Southeast Michigan.
