Please join us! The 2018 class of Innovation Fellows will be presenting their final presentations on Wednesday, Sept 19th from 9AM-3PM at the WSU Student Center, room 285.

Sponsored by the Technology Commercialization Office, The Innovation Honors Program is designed to generate the next generation of Chief Science Officers and entrepreneurial scientists for high tech industry with the skills and knowledge to advance technology from the bench to the marketplace.

Along with technology development, a key element of the Innovation Honors Program is engagement in curricular activities designed to foster understanding and participation in technology and market assessments, product development, business and entrepreneurship, in order to develop the skills, tools, and processes necessary to advance technology based research through successful commercialization pathways.  This aptitude allows the Innovation Fellows to act as ambassadors for technology transfer to other students and faculty in their home science & technology departments.

A case study approach is undertaken, wherein each fellow actualizes a full R&D and commercialization effort surrounding their research project. Fellows have the unique opportunity to interact with the WSU inventor/s in order to understand the underlying science and industry mentors to investigate the technological and commercial potential of the research. Fellows identify development milestones, commercialization pathways, and explore business opportunities directly related to their Innovations.  At the end of the program, the fellows develop a venture funding slide deck demonstrating the market opportunity and commercialization pathway.

The 2018 Innovation Fellows will be presenting their pitches on Wednesday, Sept. 19th.  Students, postdocs, faculty, staff and comminuty are welcome to attend!
