The WSU Libraries invite you to join us as we celebrate our University's rich history and sesquicentennial. The November Subject of the Month focuses on Diversity. The Library System Subject of the Month facilitators will work with the Diversity and Inclusion Council to organize a Race Card Wall in each WSU Library. In addition to an accompanying display of books in the Purdy Library, each of the libraries will be designating space for a Race Card wall. Pens and notecards will be provided for students, faculty, and the community to write their own six word observations and experiences with race. The cards will be taped to the wall, and at the end of the month we will photograph all five Race Card walls and compile them for the Subject of the Month LibGuide.

The Race Card project encourages people to condense their observations and experiences about race into one sentence with just six words. The Six Word essays featured on the website, theracecardproject.com, provide a window into America's private conversations about race and cultural identity.
