This holiday season the LGBT Student Advisory Board is hosting the 2nd annual charity drive for the Ruth Ellis Center, a social services agency that addresses the needs of runaway, homeless and at-risk LGBT youth. The drive will run from November 1st to January 31st.
Donations of the following items are requested:
- Winter wear such as coats, boots, gloves, hats, & scarves
- Hygiene supplies such as soap, lotion, shampoo, & conditioner
- Beauty products such as makeup, nail polish, and hair products
- Gender-affirming clothes and products are especially desired.
There are multiple drop-off locations around campus and Midtown, including:
- the Office of Multicultural student engagement (WSU Student Center, rm 791),
- the Dean of Students Office (WSU Student Center, rm 301),
- the WSU Honors College (UGL second floor),
- the Psychology Department (5057 Woodward, 7th floor by elevators), and
- the Planned Parenthood Detroit Health Center (4229 Cass Ave).
Pick up arrangements may be available for large donations.
