The Gordon L. Grosscup Museum of Anthropology hosts monthly meetings for new and returning student volunteers.  New volunteers are given an overview of the goals and procedures of our gallery volunteer system.  Returning volunteers will be offered supplemental training such as detailed information on exhibit content, public speaking practice and tips, suggestions for engaging young museum visitors, etc...

Museum volunteers are expected to volunteer at our gallery desk at least one scheduled hour per week. Volunteers are welcome (but not expected to) to work additional gallery hours, participate in outreach events on and off campus, or participate in behind-the-scenes museum activities.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer but you are unavailable during our meetings please contact us at .

The Gordon L. Grosscup Museum of Anthropology is located in room 1227 Old Main, and is free to visit. We are generally open Tu-Th 10-5 and Friday 10-8 during the academic year.  As a museum of anthropology its central mission is to inspire a broader understanding and appreciation of the ethnic diversity and cultural heritage of our region and our world.  Faculty and organizations interested in scheduling a group tour of the exhibit should contact us at .
