What are the factors that determine skin color?  How does melanin contribute to the natural variations of skin color?  Is skin color (melanin) a crediable scientific standard by which to classify and evaluate different races and nationalities?  The purpose of this seminar is to take an ethnographic approach to observe and explore the factors that control disparaties in human skin color and the global impact of these differences.
