Human trafficking is a form of modern-day slavery that is a crime under international, federal and State of Michigan law. Michigan is #2 in the US human trafficking cases. Michigan is taking a proactive approach to educating healthcare professionals by making it mandatory for you to learn about human trafficking and how you can help.

• Discuss what sex trafficking is and how it affects the community
• Identify behavioral, physical and psychological characteristics, seen in both victims of human trafficking and traffickers
• Discuss how and why sex trafficking is prominent in all communities
• Discuss reporting mechanisms and how to fight sex trafficking.
