We invite you to join your fellow College of Liberal Arts and Sciences alumni and bring your kids and grandkids to the first College of Liberal Arts & Sciences Alumni Family Day. Wayne State Alumni can bring their families to enjoy the exciting science attractions offered inside and near Wayne State’s most iconic building, Old Main.

What’s Happening and Where:

Old Main Level 0 (Underground):

Check In Station- All guests please check in to receive map for the day. 

Geology and Mineral Museum

Planetarium - Showing Educational Films

Make Slime with the Department of Chemistry.

Experience Greek Mythology with the Classics Club.  

Learn expressions in different languages with Department of Classical and Modern Languages, Literatures, and Cultures through games, songs and rhymes.   

Experience activities with the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders including:Sound wave machine, Homemade string instruments, and Tuning fork and sound waves.

 Instant Poetry and Fiction with the Department of English 

Learn about Voting with the Department of Politcial Science

A couple of FAQs have arisen. 

Q: Can you give me the appropriate ages of children that would most benefit from the various  activities?   

A: Children age 5 - 14.  

Q: Do I have to arrive at the start time? 

A: No, as long as you RSVP, you can check in at any time of the day and leave whenever you please.
