The WSU Suicide Prevention Initiative is pleased to offer a free Mental Health First Aid training course on Sunday, April 28th. This course is free to all WSU Faculty/Staff and Students. RSVP is required.

WHAT IS MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID?

Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour course that teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. The training gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial help and support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem or experiencing a crisis. Participants who complete the training are certified for 3 years in Mental Health Fair Aid.

The course is divided into 2 sections and group will break between noon-1pm for lunch. Lunch is not provided.
