Celebrate the 30th anniversary of the historic parliamentary elections in Poland! The elections of June 4th of 1989 started the process of dismantling communism in the entire Eastern bloc.

On Tuesday, June 4, 2019, FPA, Polish American Congress, PNA, WSU Polish Culture Club and Wayne University Polish Studies will co-sponsor a commemoration of the 30th Anniversary of the historic parliamentary elections in Poland.

The event will take place at Wayne State University Manoogian Hall in Room #91 (basement) beginning at 6 pm.

Honorary Consul of the Republic of Poland in Detroit, Richard A. Walawender, will address the impact of the elections on Poland and Europe.  The program will be followed by Andrzej Wajda's film, "WAŁĘSA".

Light refreshments will be served.   

Admission to the event is free of charge.
