
Graduate Ambassador Program 2019-2020

Amount: The Graduate Ambassador program pays a tuition scholarship of $500 in Fall and in Winter semester.
Description of the Graduate Ambassador Program:
The Graduate Ambassador program is a great way to give back to Wayne State University by promoting the Graduate School's programs. Events include: the Fall Open House (October), Cider and Donuts (October), Graduate and Postdoctoral Research Symposium (March), webinars, and other virtual and in-person meetings with prospective graduate students.
Eligibility:
To be eligible to be a Graduate Ambassador, the student must meet all the criteria below:
- Be enrolled as a graduate student at Wayne State University for at least one full academic year.
- Maintain a 3.0 G.P.A. in your graduate studies.
- Attend a one hour mandatory orientation meeting in August.
- Attend (4) monthly meetings: September 2019, October 2019, January 2020, February 2020.
- Graduate Ambassadors will be required to attend events, such as the Graduate Open House on October 2nd, 2019, the Graduate and Post-Doc Research Symposium in March 2020, as well as other Graduate School programming.
Application Process:
- Upload an unofficial copy of your Wayne State transcript.
- Add a 500 word or less essay, describing your interest in the Graduate Ambassador program, any community involvement, diversity engagement, leadership experience, your academic interest and extracurricular duties.
Selection Process:
The final candidates for this program will be interviewed in mid-July. Decisions on Graduate Ambassadors will be announced in late July.
