Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) is an institution-wide comprehensive training program conducted by the Graduate School for all new PhD students and many postdocs.

This training is required of all new PhD students and for many postdocs in the first year of their program through a zero-credit course titled "Essential Research Practices: Responsible Conduct of Research (GS-0900)".

The purpose of the training is to promote and sustain the highest standards of research integrity across all disciplines. The training consists of three distinct phases:

    • Online modules
    • Saturday workshop (8:30 a.m.-2 p.m., Sept. 7, 2019)
    • Departmental/disciplinary training
