Wayne State University's Office of the Vice President for Research, in conjunction with the Center for Urban Responses to Environmental Stressors (CURES), Healthy Urban Waters (HUW), Transformative Research in Urban Sustainability Training (T-RUST), and the Graduate School, is pleased to host the first annual Global Health, Justice and the Environment conference on September 10th and 11th, 2019.

The conference will focus on the important priorities needed for responding to environmental factors that impact human health, as well as the justice needed to expand beyond access to health care that includes a focus on issues such as air pollution, chemical pollution, water quality, food and drug safety, public health, childhood health and many environmental factors causing health differences. Health justice may provide an important view for understanding environmental and resource struggles around the globe, and may offer opportunities to shape broader global processes. This conference will provide a framework for shaping the critical priorities needed for global health, justice and the environment.

For this inaugural event of the Global Health, Justice and the Environment, we are seeking abstract submissions for poster presentations, which will take place on September 10th and 11th, 2019 during the conference at Wayne State's Student Center Ballroom. Some submissions may be selected to give talks as well. Students selected to present will be offered a scholarship to attend the conference.
