I-Search Tips and Tricks
This event is in the past.
Traditionally, the I-Search is an intimidating project for 1020 students, despite the fact that a good portion of key aspects related to the project is tacit knowledge for them, even if they are unaware of this. Since the research project relies so heavily on the scaffolding that the I-Search narrative provides, ensuring that students have a strong foundation is essential for their future success in the classroom. This workshop will focus on providing composition program instructors with key aspects and pedagogical strategies for teaching aspects of narrative, as well as the logistics of Project 2 in general. Presenters will present ideas and strategies that have worked well in the past, as well as utilize examples for discussion. During the workshop, participants will contribute to discussion and will develop a plan for potentially engaging with the presented strategies in their own 1020 courses.
