A walk on Green Street will lead to a sustainable world where environmental stewardship is common place. At Green Street you will learn more about:
- what's happening with sustainability on campus;
- getting involved in sustainability initiatives;
- how to reduce negative impacts on the environment;
- and, better understanding environmental challenges.
Green Street is a waste-free event. No single-use plastic will be used. Please bring a reusable cup. Coffee and water will be available. Snacks are provided.

Moderator - Zoe Pidgeon, Sustainability Intern, Office of Campus Sustainability
- Maris Polanco will begin with a presentation on plastics, plastic pollution in the oceans, and her activism as an artist
- Yongli Zhang will talk about her research (with the SWEET lab) on microplastics
- Joseph Chapman will discuss Take Back the Tap's efforts to reduce plastic water bottle use on campus
- Lawrence Greer will invite activism through the Green Warriors program
- Adam Pruett will discuss WSU's greenhouse operation and the native plant work of the Detroit Biodiversity Network
- Daryl Pierson will talk about the sustainability strategic plan, plastic and other recycling on campus, and the carbon emissions surveys
