Join the Detroit Design Network at our Design & Dine series. This month’s workshop features Kacha Azema, Executive Creative Director at Skidmore Studio, who will share tips on how to make your packaging design stand out.

Getting noticed on a retail shelf ain’t easy! The competition is stiff. On a shelf crowded with your fiercest competition, you only have a few seconds to communicate the features and attributes of your product…better, louder, and in a more interesting way than your competitors.

In a best-case scenario, shoppers arrive at the store in search of your brand or product specifically. But it’s more likely they will arrive thinking about a product or category more generally. Or, if the product is an impulse buy, then you need to both attract uninterested eyeballs and stand out from the competition. Yikes!

What’s a designer to do? Join us as Kacha Azéma, Creative Director of Skidmore Studio, walks us through the “Stop-Hold-Close” framework.
