Prof. M Ratnam’s lab
Karmanos Cancer Institute/Wayne State University
Rayna Rosati received her PhD from Wayne State University School of Medicine in the lab of Dr. Ratnam studying the interactions of the Androgen Receptor with ELK1 in prostate cancer and developing multiple avenues for novel drug discoveries. She then continued on in her research beginning her postdoctoral work developing next generation drug candidates for prostate cancer as well as further translational work in understanding the role of the short progesterone receptor isoform in hormone-regulated metastasis of luminal breast cancer. She is a part of two ongoing clinical trials; one trial supported by The Purton Foundation is looking at the plasma folate receptor as a biomarker for ovarian cancer and the second trial is supported by The Department of Defense and the Veterans Administration Healthcare System, which is looking at improving the treatment outcomes in lung adenocarcinoma via glucocorticoid-induced tumor senescence. The title of her talk is “Tumor Selective Disruption of Androgen Receptor Function in Prostate Cancer.”
